The cottages have no ac in the living room, the dining room, the bathrooms, or the kitchen! Since they are made out of wood and have zero insulation it is impossible to cool with just the ac coming from the bedrooms’ mini splits. Being that mid July and the temperature is 100 degrees, the cottage is hotter than a sauna and unbearable to spend any considerable amount of time inside. My youngest was supposed to sleep in the living room sofa bed as we are a family of 5 and it’s a cottage for 6 (1 king, 1 queen, and sofa bed) but we could not allow him to sleep in that heat! You could barely spend 5 minutes inside the cottage before you were drenched in sweat and out of breath. Considering the cost per night, there are certain expectations of comfort, even though you are in the islands and know that things are different. After much complaining they provide us with another cottage for 2 with a king bed, that at least gave us all a bedroom with air conditioning but separated our family into 2 cottages. Being that 2 of our sons were home from college and we were celebrating our youngest’s birthday we were disappointed by the separation which is why we booked 1cottage originally and not 2. We were refunded the resort fee, for the inconvenience that my youngest had to sleep on a floor mattress in our room since the second cottage was unavailable until the next day. Unable to spend any time together at second cottage as it was too small for a family and the larger cottage was too hot!
