Ed.and Lynn are gracious hosts, who operate this cool little property that's somewhat off the beaten track, and off the grid. And that is both the good and not so good. If you take this property for what it is it is great.
Ed and Lynn operate these cabanas with a loving hand. The cabanas are smallish, but up- to-date, clean and neat, and comfortable. The feel is very much like a well above average maintained motel suite. Their on site convenience store carries all the basics you might need while on Ambergris,... and it is very... well... convenient.
The possible downsides for some could be, the only appliances inside are a bar fridge and coffee maker. Other than the convenience store, there are absolutely no other amenities on site... not so much as a porch or deck, to sit outside and drink your morming coffee... and located on a dusty gravel road just off the beach, here is no scenery either. These may be drawbacks for some, however, for those, like me, on a budget looking for no more than very clean and comfortable accommodations close to the beach with hosts on site, Ed's Adventures is hard to beat. And a 10 minute stroll to the beach, will take you past a couple of food stands that serve full sized delicious breakfasts, and other dishes at reasonable prices. Then you can take in all Secret Beach has to offer... relax or have fun in the sun... enjoy all the bars, restaurants and amenities... For this traveler, my stay at Ed's Adventures was just about perfect.
