Staff (5*), Hotel (3.5*), Meals (2*)
Negative start, we booked a superior double and we got a single with a small double against the wall (2nd person crawls on the bed), 1 side table, 1 coffee ☕ confirmed it was a single.
Positive, Robert arranged an upgrade (extra cost). Appreciated upgrade but disappointed with the original room allocation.
The staff were awesome (Stella, Joanna, Nassos and Djemalie
Facilities as expected, communal toilets clean, bar was on occasion busy and pool loungers were usually booked by 10am (European guests booking loungers before breakfast😒😒).
General:
Loads of shops and restaurants close by and Malia strip is walkable. Sunsets on the beach are worth the evening walk.
A few noisy or inconsiderate male guests but they calmed down when no one paid attention. If meals were improved this is a hotel I would revisit.
Con: Meals were just ok 🙁
There's a selection and meal theme varied but nothing made you feel like having seconds. Some days it was difficult to find something you wanted to eat. We ate lunch out most days in small village taverns and that was 😋
Breakfast varied but fried eggs are not served daily, when they were they were slow cooked in oil not fried
As with most buffets people waste a lot of food.
The a la carte meal was better than buffet but again felt like it was missing something. Again the team serving were the high point, dishes were served fairly quickly and drinks topped up.
