Disappointing stay, left 2 nights earlier
We booked this expensive resort hotel as a highlight of our sri lanka tour.
After staying at the nice resort cinnamon blu in Trinco, it was a disapointment to arrive here (no spa, no poolbar, no rooftop bar, not the standard of a 4* hotel). No one showed us the room, so we had to guess where it could be...But we liked the spacious room, the pools and the beautiful view of the ocean.
The requested vegan meal (due to milk allergy) was only possible after many explanations and misunderstandings.
We talked to the manager about the disapointments during our stay (day 2/5). We asked for a 1 night refund and should receive it. Unfortunately there were many things at the hotel which were promised but didn’t exist. The manager told us that the promised things on their homepage were wrong because the homepage is managed in India..? (that’s why they promise Spa, pool bar and so on)
As we still felt so uncomfortable after our talk and things didn’t change, we decided to leave after 3 nights instead if staying 5.
The service staff is kind and tried really hard to make us happy. It just seems as the hotel as a whole doesn’t work.
We were very sad that it ended up like this as we payed a lot lot lot of money (compared to that cinnamon blu costs the half of it...) and couldn’t enjoy our stay at all. If you don’t feel welcome as a guest, it doesn’t help if you’re staying in a stylish place...
