It was my partner’s birthday when we arrived. She used her passport to check us in. It costs nothing to wish someone a happy birthday but gives the customer a moment of recognition. Unfortunately she didn’t receive that.
Once we got into the room, the television was not working. After 45 minutes of helping the technician to try and fix it (carrying the tv while he tried to arrange the wires etc), he gave up. Unfortunately it was exactly while the world cup final was on and we missed the first half due to this. Then we phoned reception and asked to change rooms. It took a while and it this stage the game was into the second half. We weren’t offered an apology, just a room change across the corridor and the room smelled like they had sprayed something to mask a sewage issue (?) Also, for a newly renovated hotel, the bathroom was very cramped. A sliding door would be much better, but now I’m nit-picking :)
We paid €323 in total for one night in a standard room with breakfast and parking. For that price, you’d expect better hospitality service.
