Hotel was a convent so an interesting hotel, but required some navigating. Location great for seeing all the Roman ruins. Fair size room but encumbered by a lot of large furniture, but only one chair. Breakfast was not included in our rate and was expensive with poor service.

Good location with parking
Good location to see the Roman sights. Good parking but does get very full so you need to check in early or on time.

Very Central
Very nice and big rooms. As a family we had rooms right next to eachother. Good place to stay when in Mérida, within walking distance to all sifgts. Ok for parking too as the hotel as a separate basement parking for an extra cost of 12 € pr night.

The property was lovely. The old convent was wonderfully suited to be turned into a hotel and quite centrically located. Staff was very hospitable. The amount of Roman Ruins are all around was mesmerizing.

Everything was very good except for dining. Our experience was not the best with the food and the waiter did not have good knowledge of the wine they offer. Breakfast was excellent.

Elegant old parador.
This is an elegant old building, showing its age a bit but charming. The maids are very helpful it you need anything. There is a nice pool. The beds are comfortable. The location is walkable from the train station, and being a small town, you can also walk to all the ruins if you like to walk. As you walk to the center, you will come across restaurants and many shops. They have extensive and convenient parking with an attendant to help.

8/10 Very good

The room was good overall, we approached the staff on two different occassions for help with different things, and each time it wasnt easy to get the help we needed. Also, it seems that the construction on the hotel made it very difficult tofund the entrance. Even after we were checked in, there was not easy access to the main street level.
Jessica, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very good location and in general facilities, but no air condition and no choices . At night really hot and can’t open windows for noise and clarity.
felix, 1-night trip

Pros: comfortable beds, huge room, quiet Cons: sewer gas smell in bathroom, strong carpet deoderizer smell in hallways. Those with mobility issues should be aware that the elevator and the reception/dining areas are almost at opposite ends of the hotel so a lot of walking is required to avoid stairs Often the fastest way between parts of the hotel involves stairs (two here, three there, a half flight elsewhere) and the stairs are often a bit higher than modern stairs.

Great staff, but org. improvements are needed
The staff was great, very friendly and doing their best to give us service. But here are some suggestions for necessary improvements to be done: - hire staff that to a larger extent than today can speak English adequate for their job, e.g. as waters. There were very few waters, we met just one, who spoke English. We had to ask "our" water to fetch her so we could get information about the food and wine. - Although we had reserved a room including breakfast months before our arrival we got a time slot for breakfast at 9.30. A little late for our planned activities during the day. When we arrived at the breakfast room the first day it looked like a mess, there was no table laid, no glasses for orange juice, no extra plates for bread and cold cuts and the small coffee machines were slow and sometimes troublesome to use. The second day we skipped our time slot and went down to breakfast earlier. No problem. Please, skip the time slots for breakfast, it is inadequate as it is a breakfast buffet. Most hotels we know do not have this arrangement, it feels a little like old Sovjet. Tbis goes also for other Paradores we have visited - The parking (excellent in the basement) was very expensive, 20 euros a day.

Critica
El parador es bonito, muy bien situado pero las habitaciones son muy normalitas como en otros paradores, con lo que te plantes a veces si merece la pena reservar en un parador o mejor en un hotel que tiene las habitaciones mucho mejores y son mas baratos.
