It's a 30 - 40 minute walk from Central Station to the hotel, but you can take the Metro, which is cheap, and from there it's only a 7 minute walk.
The staff is very friendly, and the rooms, while cozy, are comfortable. Everything you need is there. It has a comfortable bed, a mini fridge, large tv, writing desk and chair, a clean bathroom with a large shower cabin, including a rain shower. It has a good toilet, the usual things like toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, but also cremes, shower caps and even shoe mittens! And fresh clean towels of course.
The tv works fine, although the sound wasn't consistent. But that wasn't the tv, it was the channel itself.
The bed was very comfortable, nice and soft with comfortable pillows.
The room might be a bit small for some, so it's not a place to stay for the whole day. It really is a place to come back to in the evening, take a nice shower, watch some tv or something, and go to sleep.
The included breakfast was nice, and it's in the main restaurant, which they decorated quite nicely. They started preparing some empty tables for dinner while we were still eating our breakfast, but not once did it bother us, nor did we get the feeling that they wanted us to leave.
All in all it's a good hotel, which I would certainly recommend to anyone going to Newcastle, and willing to travel a bit to get from the city centre to the hotel and back.
