I wasn't able to stay. I made the reservation online with the payment protection, however, upon trying to check in the man would not except my Government issued Veterans ID card. Prior to making the reservation, I called and asked if it was possible to receive a Veterans discount. He said yes as long as I would present my card while checking in. When I got there to check in, the man kept insisting I needed a State ID card to get the room. I asked for the refund and he said he had nothing to do with that and that I would have to call with whomever I booked the room with, which was hotels.com. I've tried calling the customer service number countless times last night, as well as this morning without any success at all.
