Very dirty.. staff wasnt very helpful. The room they put us in had no toilet paper. No towels or wash clothes and dirty linen was all over the floor. It looked very rundown.. we told the front desk and they did move is to another room that at least had clean linen.. but room service never came with fresh towels the next day not asked about cleaning.. just very unprofessional.
There was roaches an bed bugs I have about 10 over
The only good was very close to the beach on n.ocean blvd ...the bad this place is infested with roaches didn't see any the first night because I came in an went straight to sleep but woke up with bed bug bites ...roaches roaches everywhere
We found roaches. Towels were stiff and abrasive. Tub constantly leaked. Couldn't use balcony, water dripped constantly splashing you. Balcony had algae growing. The pool fronted the entire hotel, so noise was constant. The $20 deposit wasn't recorded at check-in, so I didn't get that back. Woman at check-out desk was rude, lacked people skills. I didn't expect much, but I got less than that. Won't be staying there again.
Pictures were misleading it was old and run down. Bathroom door would not shut, towel rack broke off the wall. You could walk across the street to the beach was the only good thing.
Cons: There was a lot of noise from the road traffic (trucks and tons of mopeds). There was cigarette burns in the comforter in a non-smoking room....hmmm. No breakfast in the morning. Room didn't appear to have been vacuumed recently. The bathroom shower had someone else's hair still in it when we checked in. No bathroom outlets. Poor lighting. A little scary to walk around at night. No chainlock. No curtain on bathroom window, only blinds. Dirty bathroom floors (unmopped and sandy) and unclean door frames (dirty fingerprints), etc. I am really okay with it being somewhat outdated but it was truly unclean in a lot of ways.
Pros: Great air conditioner. Small frig and microwave in the room. Wifi and free parking. Close to the boardwalk.
The location was wonderful. The night clerk was very nice, funny and helpful. The property, on the other hand, was in an awful state. The room was very dirty and in disrepair. There were roaches in the bedroom and in the bathroom.
If you choose to stay here, bring lysol and an extra set of junk sheets you don't mind pitching and plastic bags to put your belongings in to protect them from the bugs and dirt.
There was security on the property, which made me feel safer.
We actually didn't stay at the Wayfarer Motel. We got there and realized that it was not the type of place one would take their family. It is located in a less than desirable area of Myrtle Beach, is in poor condition, smokey, moldy tiles, rusty bathtub etc. We took one look at it and said, "No, thanks!" Unfortunately, I had pre-paid and am still trying to get my money back. We found a cleaner, more suitable place down the street. Never having been to Myrtle Beach before, I had no idea that there were places like this. At the time of booking it was rated as a 2.5 and we needed at cheap & cheerful place to stay near the airport for our last night. Totally disappointed.
They didn't even have a room for me when I arrived. It would have been nice if Expedia had told me that by booking same day the hotel wouldn't even get my reservation in time. I had to go to a different hotel last minute. This hotel was in a sketchy area anyway.
$90 a night was extremely overpay I would rated at a $40-$45 hotel wasn't the cleanest. There were armed guards in the evenings outside patrolling The hotel it made me very easy about my safety and security.
Walked in the first thing you see is rust and dents on the frige..., burn holes in the carpet, the beds were made but looked like someone had slept on them. Worst stay at a Hotel I have ever experienced! Would not have stayed if we could have found another place...
