I recently stayed at the Best Western and had a very mixed experience, with several significant issues that detracted from what could have been a pleasant trip.
The problems started right at check-in. The person at the front desk was unfriendly and rude, setting a negative tone from the start. This poor service continued when I checked out; the staff ignored me completely, engrossed in a side conversation and making me feel like an inconvenience.
The food options were generally good, but the breakfast was a huge disappointment. It was far more expensive than advertised, and the quality was subpar. The service in the restaurant was also a major letdown. When we tried to ask a waiter for help, she immediately dismissed us with the excuse that she wasn't our waiter.
On a positive note, the bed was incredibly comfortable. However, even this was marred by serious cleanliness issues. The blankets had a strong, unpleasant "old person" perfume smell, which made me question if they had been washed since the last guest. To make matters worse, there was a visible stain on the side of the mattress. As soon as I walked into the room, I was hit with a strong, musty odorâlike smelly gym shoesâthat seemed to be coming from the dirty carpet.
While the comfortable bed was a nice surprise and a great view, the lack of cleanliness and the consistently poor service from nearly every staff member I encountered made this a stay I would not recommend.
