Beautiful hotel â but lack of accountability
We stayed one night at D-Resort Ć ibenik (July 29â30), traveling with our 5-year-old daughter. Before booking, we called the hotel to ask if we needed to reserve for 3 people, since our daughter would sleep in our bed. We were clearly told that booking for 2 was enough. Based on that, we booked a room for two and added a note mentioning our child.
The hotel itself is stunning, very clean, and the staff welcomed us warmly. However, during check-in, we were informed that an extra âŹ50 would be charged for the third person. We explained the phone conversation, and the receptionist seemed to acknowledge our position.
At check-out, another staff member insisted on charging us the âŹ50, claiming their colleague had only said that our daughter was allowed to sleep in the same room. We had communicated entirely in Croatian during the call, check-in, and check-out, so there was no language barrier or misunderstanding. Also, the room was for two people, with one queen bed, and no additional service was provided for the âŹ50.
This left a bitter aftertaste. While the hotel is excellent overall, we were disappointed by the lack of accountability and flexibility when handling a mistake caused by the hotel itself.
