We booked the last available room which was a twin room. We were only here for one night. It was extremely quiet and the bed was comfortable. The property is very old and the decor is as well but it was still a pleasant stay.
We booked this as a stop over on our way home. The hotel is lovely and in a beautiful setting. However when we arrived we found that the restaurant was closed in order to prepare for a wedding the next day. We found a very good alternative nearby but wonder if it really is âa restaurant with roomsâ.
The room was lovely and big but I donât think anyone had used it in a while, cobwebs everywhere, had two spiders crawl on me in the night, the jacuzzi bath was rusty and had dirt in the bottom of it.
The duvet had a massive stain at the top, like a water or coffee stain.
I really wanted to enjoy our one night stay but unfortunately it really let us down : (
Lovely period property in a beautiful surrounding with really nice staff. We couldnât fault anyone we met there and the breakfast was excellent. We would deffo return here
Stay was for a birthday party at the village hall for a family member who lives in Bridgenorth. Rooms were comfortable if a little quaint reflecting the age of the property. Breakfast was served in the more modern glass conservatory. Staff were helpful polite and friendly.
Hotel facilities are looking very tired, carpets really need replacing, decor hasnât really been touched since the 1990s, rooms initially had a musty smell so we opened the windows to let some fresh air in.
Breakfast was well prepared this morning, which was the best part of the stay.
All in all, we did feel that it was certainly an overpriced stayed for what was provided.
Lovely place to stay for a local wedding, the owner couldnât have been more helpful. The room was lovely and the breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Would highly recommend.
The twin room was on the small side. The en-suite was basic but clean. Saw cobwebs on the window. The tea tasted awful in our room on the first morning so the milk must have been off. It was okay the next morning. This room was probably not used very often.
Food was very nice although came with a service charge for dinner. The bed was very comfortable, slept really well. The room however, was dated and in need updating. There seemed to be a lot of ladybirds in the bedroom and eating area. A lot of hair in the bath plug and bathroom floor, the toilet in the bedroom didnât flush and the shower head was broken. A bit disappointing considering the price
As soon as we arrived we were blown away with the loation as the view from the patio area is real shropshire countryside. Staff were extremely friendly and we felt relaxed and made to feel very welcome . Our room was spcipus cean and comfortable. The food is beyond average and is 5 star quality with service to match. If we ad found this place earlier we would have stayed longer.
The Hotel is in a very nice location: a small village surrounded by a beautiful countryside. The property is maintained in a very high standard. The room that we have been given was large and it has a lovely old feeling but spoiled by a strange choice of modern ceiling lights and bedside lamps - what a shame . Bed wasnât the most comfortable one in the world but it will do if you were so tired and in need of a sleep .The bathroom , although it was large, it looked tired and dated- a bit disappointing. The guy who checked us in was very pleasant and polite. The lady however, not sure whether she was the owner or mangers, who checked us out was too over official. She didnât across as a welcoming person. She asked me before we left whether everything was ok? Again, she didnât across to me she was really interested in the answer as she was busy doing something whilst she asked the question. I always believe that when you ask your guests this sort of question you need show sincerity, otherwise it will be counterproductive. The breakfast has lacked the feeling of hospitality and generosity - too mean.
Overall the stay was ok but the management needs to work on the warm and genuine welcome to their guests
