We had to leave early as the area was expecting a snow event and our airlines moved us from Newport News airport to Norfolk. I'd love some sort of refund on that night but understand if you can't. Also, the woman at the front desk (forget her name, she was an older woman), was phenominal!

Early celebrations?
We checked in on 12/30 for just one night. There were two people at the front desk. A man, who kept going round and round with me about being a Hampton Inn member. I kept telling him I'd made my reservation through Hotels and prepaid it. He didn't seem to understand how to find me. The other person, a woman, who said she was the manager either was suffering from a medical condition that made her speech slurred or she was completely inebriated. She had trouble keeping her eyes open. She also was pushing the rewards program with Hampton. Between the two of them it became exhausting quickly. I just wanted to check in! Our room was clean enough. The beds were very uncomfortable tho. So much so that I woke up with a backache. Breakfast was your typical free breakfast from a chain hotel. Powdered wet eggs, but the precooked bacon was crispy and tasty. Overall nothing to really write home about. I probably wouldn't stay at this location again due to the front desk run around.

Beautiful room. However refrigerator was loins and consistently running. Additionally, there was no hot water for showers. Barely lukewarm. Sink had hot water, but very unfortunate to not be able to take a shower.

The hotel was ok. The hotel staff were obviously just doing their duties for the morning (vacumming ect) walls must not be significantly thick because it was not condusive to sleeping with all of the commotion. It was a nice hotel overall, and was clean.

OK for a quick trip
Just a quick overnight trip for my and my hubby. We were unfortunately across the hall from the Housekeeping closet and across the street from a major road, so not as quiet as we would like (especially early in the AM as the housekeepers prepared for the day). Exterior door was on the fritz near our room so had to walk around to the front to enter. Breakfast was pretty standard. Bed was comfortable. Nice bathroom with a great shower and SUPER HOT water -- loved that!

Girls Trip
We stayed for an overnight girls trip. The hotel was very accommodating to put us next to each other so we could enjoy our stay even more. It was a very convenient location with lots of shops and restaurants steps away. The Mexican restaurant right next door is very good and in the very next parking lot to the hotel. The rooms were spacious and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was small but still had a decent variety. I would recommend staying at this location.

We arrived after 11pm, I needed to press the call button to be allowed into the building. So I wasn’t sure about the safety of the area. David at the desk was very helpful at check in. Clean but dated rooms. If you like a firm mattress this is your place! Breakfast was typical continental breakfast. Waffle stand was a hit! Best bang for your buck.
