This place is ADORABLE! Very well kept, quiet, and rather idyllic for the location it is in (a neighborhood in a big town). The neighborhood was very quiet, older homes of a historic time period that are in various stages of refurbishment and/or renovation. The Carriage House Cottage is simply lovely. It gave an English Garden vibe, with a mix of modern amenity and historic charm. The bed and pillows were SUPERB and honestly the most comfortable we've ever experienced! The towels were fluffy and soft.
Something to note: this place felt like it was built for giants. I'm only 5'2", and the countertops and stove top came just below my chest. The shower heads (there are three... GLORIOUS!) were REALLY high up, and that wasn't completely to my liking. That is a personal preference, though, and should in no way dissuade you from considering a stay. It's just something to note.
The cottage has many windows, all with pull-down shades for privacy. This allowed for so much natural light and the beauty of the surrounding gardens to come through. You even have your own private garden, perfect for morning coffee or an evening cocktail.
In all, we loved it! We look forward to returning in the near future. We were a bit concerned with the reviews that called the surrounding area "sketchy", but found that to also be a matter of opinion. We were able to relax and enjoy our short stay, and we encourage you to do the same.
Thank you for providing such lovely accommodations!
