in true portland fashion, this hotel is quirky. i'm no expert on star ratings, but this hardly feels deserving of a 4-star title.
no early check in option, which is understandable for such a small hotel. sheets and pillow cases feel like they're made of construction paper and mattress is very thin. the bathroom light is on a 5 minute timer that apparently cannot be adjusted, so plan on showering in the dark. windows have zero insulation, so there is a nightly symphony of screaming homeless folks, car alarms, and ambulance sirens to rouse you from sleep.
still, staff is very friendly and accommodating, and even though they close relatively early, both bars are lovely.
probably won't stay here again but it's a decent option for a conveniently located inner southeast stay.
