While the hotel location is undeniably fantastic, the services and transparency in pricing were a disaster.
From the moment my friend and I checked in, we encountered problems. The hotel imposes a mandatory Destination Fee of $28 per night, per room, which covers various amenities such as Wi-Fi, cinema access, and a tourist bus around Los Angeles. However, the catch is that the benefits are tied to a single card per room. This means that despite booking for two, only one person could enjoy the free cinema entrance, forcing the other to pay. To make matters worse, a ticket at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood costs just $16, not $28. This fee was not disclosed anywhere during the booking process and only revealed at check-in, making it a non-negotiable additional charge.
The situation deteriorated further on the second day when our room was not serviced. We returned at 10 PM to find the bed unmade and the dirty towels we had left on the floor still there.
To top it off, three bottles of water were placed prominently on the TV stand in our room. Typically, in most hotels, such items displayed outside the minibar are complimentary. However, we were shocked to find a charge of $44 for these bottles, billed to us a day after checkout. Initially, the checkout invoice did not list this charge, and it was only after I reached out to the hotel to inquire about this unexpected expense that they sent a revised invoice including the water bottles. Utterly frustrating and disappointing
