The room’s cleanliness was acceptable, and while the space is clearly dated, it does have a certain charm. The locks still use traditional metal keys, and although there are a few streaming channels and WiFi available, the room lacks modern amenities—such as a refrigerator for keeping drinks cold.
My biggest concern during the stay was the presence of ants. I found several throughout the room, including in the bed. When I addressed this with the front desk attendant, I was told they were “just sugar ants” and common in Florida. While I understand that insects exist everywhere, I also explained that I take preventative measures at home and do not typically encounter them indoors. Unfortunately, the only solution offered was a set of clean sheets, and since we had prepaid for two nights, we had to manage the situation as best we could.
Additionally, the linens provided were very limited—just enough for basic use each day.
