So much of this stay was wonderful. The location is terrific, the price was good, and the resort is beautiful. Terrific views, nice amenities, and the property itself is very nice. Great deck, fairly private. Beautiful design and nice lighting. I can't give it a perfect rating though. There were some issues:
The bed was not up to par with the rest of the space. The bed itself was uncomfortable, and the bedding was old and ratty. The fitted bottom sheet didn't fit and would come off as soon as someone sat down. The sheets were threadbare and the bedspread was rough and uncomfortable. The pillows were flat and discolored. The whole thing could have done with a freshening up, including better pillows and a duvet or quilted bedspread. Also, the large beautiful windows have a lovely view, but as soon as the sun is up it streams straight into the bedroom. Bring sleeping masks if you prefer to sleep in past sunrise.
Worse, though, was the requirement that we clean the room before we leave. The reason we don't choose Airbnb for our stays is the now-common requirement that we take out the trash, do the dishes, and gather the laundry. I understand not having daily maid service -- we don't need fresh sheets and towels every day. but when we stay in a resort hotel we don't expect to have to clean the room also. That's supposed to be part of the cost of the room.
Also, be sure to note that check-out time is 10:00am. I know it was posted in the ad, so my fault for not being aware.
