There was an unpleasant smell that we couldnât source. The room furniture was a mish mash that looked like it had been sourced from numerous other hotels or businesses or a fire sale. The armchairs may have been the source of the odor as they definitely smelled off. We looked for a dead mouse or something but no luck. The plumbing âgurgledâ all night long. Housekeeping walked in on us a bit after 9am while we were in bed, no knock or anything. The shower pipes âsquealedâ loudly the entire time it was on. We went downstairs to request a new room for the second night but there was NO ONE around the first floor of the inn, restaurant or pub. So we left the room key and just left. A staff person saw us in the parking lot and said it was his fault about the housekeeper, that he told her the wrong room number had checked out. We told him about the experience and he just said he was surprised, that people usually liked that room. Later on we emailed about our experience and They didnât respond in any way to our request for a refund for the second night. Do NOT recommend this inn at all!
Nice quiet area and friendly owners. We were in room 5. The rooms are on the second floor of the tavern. A spacious room , queen bed. Dinner in the tavern was excellent. The room was very clean and plenty of parking. The shower is a little tight and I did hear some noise from the tavern because we were next to a stairwell above the bar area, but the air conditioner muffled most of it.
This is the second time we have stayed at Mooncussers. And my wife and I were not disappointed again! This Inn and restaurant dates back to 1773! It is just charming and the the food at their restarant is just out of this world! We come every couple years to Cape Cod to visit my aunt is East Harwich. I will always make it a point to stay here. Patrick, Annie and Damien do sunch a fantastic job and we could rate this place any higher. Just remember, we are talking abount a building that was built in 1773! There will alway be a few quirky think that pop up, but this is so much cooler than staying at one of the overpriced inns in Chatam. Their rates are very affordable for being on the Cape. Give them a shot if you want a very special and unique experience!
It was a very enjoyable stay at a very nice Inn. Staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful to us setting up our plan to see the area. I found that since our room was above the kitchen and backed up to a storage or office space it was a bit noisy. I would stay there again.
Lovely 18th Century farm house with Inn and very popular restaurant on the 1st level. Close to shopping in Harwich and Chatham. Room was clean and spacious and the Inn Keepers are very accommodating and friendly to their guests.
