Salle de bains commune (2 douches pour 8 chambres ) serviettes en location, pas de savons, heureusement le personnel etait professionnel et parlait correctement anglais
I stayed one entire week in this hostel which has a great location, only 2 blocks from Pedestrian Street and the Metro Station; and about 15 min walking from Tianâanmen Square / Imperial Palace & Museum. That is the positive point.
I think that the cleaning of the toilets were not good, actually dirty, and the bathroom as well. There was no one hanger to put the clothes during the shower, neither soap in the sinks. Due to they have a bar works together, there is a lot of noise even after 10:00PM and the customers use the same toilet, if you stay on the ground floor.
But Iâd like to emphasize the front desk team, friendly Luna and specially Angelina, who was very cute and so helpful to explain to me many doubts about Beijing, which is a little bit more difficult to foreign people than Shanghai is.
The location - very basic hotel but offers some outdoor seating on a pedestri
Pedestrian Street & convenient subway station & local tourist area - numerous restaurants but for those who prefer western food - 365 inn
Offers it ...
shared toilet and shower are not enough, there is no soap is provided so I had to buy it at the supermarket. There is no kitchen but can use the one for the employee, but not comfortable since it is small and looks not clean. Hot water can be obtained here for tea, coffee, noodle in cup.
Location is ideal for the sightseeing and eating out. Staffs are friendly and helpful.
If you are sensitive on noises you might not like this accommodation. Bothered by the sounds from other rooms and the sound of shutting the door.
SOCIALIZING
I was in Beijing for 3 weeks and wanted to be social so I booked this hostel based on the images that they have here on Hotels.com. This place didn't dissapoint me! Even people from other hostels come here to mingle. Now I know folks from around the world and even from Beijing.
FOOD & DRINKS
There's a bar/restaurant at the hostel and it's a fun place to enjoy a drink. They play good music: Nouvelle Vague, Roots Manuva and that sort. The only thing I didn't like is the Western style food they have but then again - who travels to Beijing to eat pizza or pasta?
ROOMS & TOILET
I stayed in two different rooms. The first one was neat and the second one dusty but otherwise clean. No bugs or insects. The beds are comfortable and the showers work well. There is proper ac. Note that a towel is *not* included (at least not in the dorms). You need to pay a rent price plus a deposit to get a towel so if you want to take a shower when you arrive, have cash on you.
LOCATION
The location is very central and safe even during night time. There are many good restaurants and shops just around the corner, and even a proper beer bar (Beers 89) 100 m from the hostel.
OTHER NOTIONS
+ Friendly staff with okay/good English skills.
+ The hostel's trip to the Great Wall Mutianyu can be a good way of meeting new people, if you are in luck. It really depends on the day and company.
- Payment only in cash (closest ATM is 20 minute walk away).
