My daughter in law and I decided to go to Charlotte, NC to see a concert. We didn't want to stay at a hotel and decided to stay at a B&B and found The Silly Chicken. What a find! We stayed in the guest house and it was amazing. The chickens were so much fun to see and breakfast was delicious. We will try to go back and spend a few more days soon.
Karen and Bear met us at the door when we pulled in and gave us a tour of the B&B, as well as introductions to all of the chickens that are very obviously loved! The house was gorgeous and very clean, Karen and John (and Bear!) were great. Breakfast was delicious and made to order, followed by sipping coffee on the deck and watching the birds and chickens. We will most definitely be back!
The owners were attentive but respected our need for privacy and rest. The house is lovely, the hot tub was luxurious, and the bed was very comfortable.
Extremely close proximity to friends home who we came to visit. Lovely couple (John and Karen) owns and operates it. Beautiful home with many antique pieces with up to date bathroom and kitchenette in the suite. Beautiful common kitchen to eat in with daily breakfast at 930 am cooked by John. Did get to walk the grounds with John and Karen to see the chicken coop, their Pack N Ship store and a new cottage being completed. Wonderful experience. Plan repeat visit next year.
Where to begin! The convenient location near Lake Norman and the historic town of Mooresville. The quaint suite of rooms, filled with charming and often quirky decor. Access to all the amenities desired, such as a coffee and snack station, the huge-screen TV, and excellent wi-fi. The friendly and responsive (but never intrusive owners) who toured us through their home, offered excellent recommendations for dinner, and served a delicious breakfast. A very comfortable bed and bathroom. And especially Bear, the host-dog, and the bevvy of beautiful chickens.
