"I stayed here last year at the same time, and things were much better. I have a feeling there is poor management; it was obvious employee morale was way down, and it showed in the condition of the property and the attitudes of the staff. For example, the rooms appeared clean, but not maintained. The sheets and beds were clean and made, but the rooms were dusty, had stains on the bathroom wall, and the tub was hardly cleaned at all. And the plumbing was obviously getting bandaid fixes; we had to figure out how to get the toiled to flush all the way. The staff was very friendly if we approached them, but they were clearly not happy; they seldom smiled and never were the first to address guests. And they were just doing their own jobs instead of being proactive. For example, there was a coffee spill at the bottom of the stairs to the lobby, and nobody even acknowledged it till I pointed it out to the front desk clerk. Not sure if it got mopped or not. And the stairs DESPERATELY needed vacuuming. I am guessing the place is understaffed, too. Also, a personal frustration was that my whole floor reeked of marijuana. I am not shaming anyone, but clearly people were vaping in the rooms and nobody was enforcing the rules. We had to keep airing out our room. Yes, this is a budget hotel, but even budget travelers deserve better care than this. To cause so many problems in just a year that were not there before, I suspect there is a toxic work environment that needs to be addressed."
