Hotel Scandinavia is a nice and clean hotel in a good and central area of Venice. Rialto bridge and San Marco square are within walking distance. It lies on a cute square with a church (which has classical concerts in the evening). The hotel provides seats outside, so you can drink your coffee while watching Venice wake up. This leads me to the breakfast, which is absolutely great according to Italian standards. They have large variety of food, like cornflakes, (brown) bread, crackers and even croissants!
However, do not dine at the restaurant across the square, because that will be a disappointment. If you don't know where to go, ask the staff. They are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are small, but comfortable, (very) clean and generally with airco. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why we did not encounter any mosquitos there (even though it was summer).
All in all, Hotel Scandinavia is a great place to stay.
