The first of the problem is, I got there at 9:15pm, knowing that the bar/restaurant was going to close at 10. Nope, they were closed. The excuse? It wasn't busy, so they closed it early. Then there's a little shop where they also sell beer. The sign said the alcohol can be purchased till 12am. Nope, closed. When I confronted the front desk, they simply told me that they had to close it because the bar is closed. It's kind of unbelievable that I had to remind them that the bar/restaurant was supposed to be open till 10pm, and the sign says, right there, that the alcohol can be purchased till midnight. They said yes, and carried on with whatever they weren't doing. Not that I desperately wanted beer or something, it was fine, but it's simply unbelievable.
While that type of hotels are interesting architecturally, the hotel shows its age. The bathroom is old and tub slightly rusty, and wallpaper shows rips. Generally pretty dirty, too. I found a still wet wash towel in a bedside drawer. Nasty stain on the chair, etc. The room is spacious, which is good, but slightly depressing.
