The bed was ok but the sheets were very thin and barely stayed on the bed. There was nobody working the breakfast in the morning so most things had run out.
The bathroom toilet was clogged upon arrival. The shower drain did not do its job so the tub filled with water while you were showering. Also, there was NO SMOKE ALARM IN THE ROOM. Just a spot where one used to be as if they removed it and just never put it back. We also tried to call the front desk at one point around 9:45, twice, and got no answer.
There was minimal maid service. An empty shampoo bottle wasn't replaced after two requests. Basically all that was done was replacing used towels and sort of making the bed. Carpets, floors and walls all dirty. People making noise outside the front door at 3 am. A dog barking on the second floor for two hours in the morning. Walls so badly insulated that water running in the walls registered at -70 dB in the bathroom and -60 dB in the main part of the room. None of the equipment in the "fitness center" worked. The only ice machine is on the first floor. The small refrigerator, sink, and microwave in the kitchenette were dirty. Wouldn't ever stay here again, but they'll make enough money on Notre Dame home weekends they probably won't fix much.
We made our reservation for three people in the room but there were only two bath towels. There was a king size bed and a sofa bed but they didnât provide a blanket for the sofa bed. Thus, we had to ask for a bath towel and a blanket.
It appeared the hotel was under a lot of repairs. The elevator was out of service and they offered to move us to the first floor but we said we were ok with the stairs since we only had an overnight bag. So they âupgradedâ our room. The hallway walls were being prepped for paint and the carpet in the halls was worn and buckled in places making it a trip hazard. Window seals were compromised so the windows were foggy. Curtains were in need of attention or replacement. But the rooms and overall hotel was clean. Staff were friendly and nice. Location was noisy with cars and motorcycles racing in the street but the location of the hotel seemed to be in a safe and more upscale area with many other hotels, shopping, and places to eat. I think we just caught them in the middle of repairs.
This hotel smelled like mold, the elevator didnât work, and it was just overall dirty. I not staying there once I found out the elevator didnât work because I had a handicap person with me, but all hotels in the area were booked due to a Notre Dame game. Trying to get the handicap person and all the luggage up three flights of steps was ridiculous! I was offered a king size bed on floor level, but there was four people so that wouldnât wor. Later, I read that they had rollaway beds, but I was never offered. I spent two hours (already 3am) on the phone looking for another hotel couldnât find one decided to sleep in my clothes and left first thing in the morning.
I didn't like the fact i drove hours to get here and just to check in and they tell me the elevators were down so i had to take the stairs. Rooms weren't as clean as i liked. Breakfast was good. The only reason I didn't check out is because it was paid for through Expedia.
