The property is managed by a property manager rather than an innkeeper. There were many problems. Our kitchen wasnât clean, the promised breakfast was late and not good. The website says housekeeping is included but the housekeeper didnât show. When I asked her about it she said I had to request service and pay for it. The coffee machine wasnât working, the creamer was not fresh. The attention to detail is sorely lacking. The Carriage house is cute, but the service was absolutely terrible for $500+ per night. There was no space in the bathrooms for toiletries. Towel hooks were positioned next to the toilet. Absolutely no amenities. Waters were promised in the rooms and never provided. This property has potential but the execution needs work.
Beautiful old inn. Only issue was locating parking. Had to circle the block. Maybe if on site they tell you turn into parking lot beside the inn not near the main entrance
A selection of cute rooms and a gorgeous parlor room with plenty of seating, work space, amenities from the coffee, drinks, and snack bars. Wrap around porch for cool evening seating, bicycles, and fire pit for coziness.
Rooms include fridge, coffee machines, and smart TVs. Great AC and bath options.
Some street noise/traffic and roadwork at some times.
Wonderful stay at beautiful inn. Lovely, huge room with separate living room and very spacious bathroom. Breakfast sandwiches and much more all included. Lovely staff. Terrific deal ($$$).
Nice quiet neighborhood location, beautiful home, great parlor, porch sitting areas, first floor. Room is spacious but slightly dated & while AC and humidifiers are well functioning, it can get too cold very easily, especially if unit is right above the bed.
The Ashley is very charming. We had a clean, lovely room with access to the porch, where we would drink our morning coffee. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee were great too.
When checking in, there was a bit of a snafu with our reservation but the woman on the phone who helped me was very kind and accommodating. She immediately took care of the problem.
I would definitely stay there again.
The room itself was fairly comfortable and quite clean. The deck would have been a lovely place to enjoy but it was dirty and unkept. Furniture was dusty and not appealing. Major disappointment
Other guests were polite and quiet, but the location is extremely loud. Itâs difficult to get a good sleep with sirens and broken exhaust systems roaring up and down Ashley street.
I would suggest providing your guests a simple map of the â old town and French Quarter. A hard copy simple map is very helpful particularly if you use the bikes. As this property is
A long walk from the French Quarter, a list of good eating establishments nearby would also be helpful to guests. We finally found some good restaurants nearby.
We loved the bikes and felt comfortable locking them up in French Quarter. My lock was broken so you might want to review the equipment.
Breakfast was ok, after two mornings the yogurt appeared :)
I am not sure I would recommend this property to fellow travelers
By far the best place ive stayed in a while. The area was clean and quiet. Self check in process was easy. The bike rental concept was great. I enjoyed exploring Charleston on a bike. Breakfast offered was simple and accommodating.
SO CUTE! we stayed in room 3 and everything was stunning. We spent a lot of time on the verandah, which was gorgeous shared space. The breakfast, snacks and drinks were an awesome extra.
The Ashley felt like staying at an old Bed & Breakfast, without having to socialize with anyoneđ Breakfast sandwiches were prepared and left in a warmer every morning, along with fruits, parfaits and beverages. The place was beautifully decorated and the location was perfect!
Loved, Loved the shower and bed. Instructions from property regarding parking were detrimental to enjoying the parts. Information for WiFi didnât tell you the name of the network so when you try to connect to TheAshley it fails. Thatâs not the network for you. đł They should tell you on each room listing how many stairs you have to climb to get to your room and when they say take the back stairs from the parking area, they donât mean the skinny spiral staircase. Finally, the parking area is NOT behind the building. The Ashley is at the corner of Ashley and Bee and the parking area is at the Bee St entrance.
The room wise nice, comfortable bed. Decor nice. The breakfast was a huge disappointment and not as advertised. There is no front desk and the only person available to talk to were the people who clean the rooms. When asked about the food that was advertised her answer was âwe ran outâ. Itâs also not in the French Quarter and we had to drive to get there and pay a lot to park. I would recommend staying directly in the French Quarter.
