Minimal-service budget hotel has nice rooms & pool
We had a mixed experience at this hotel. If you are looking for a lower-cost hotel in Eastham with nice roooms, nice pool, and recreation equipment for your toddlers, then this is the place for you. The downside is that the hotel provides no service. They are understaffed and often have nobody working at the front office, nor do they provide a way to contact them. I was sitting in the large, public room adjacent to the office (a former breakfast area), and saw several arriving customers having to turn on their car alarm in order to get someone to come to check them in. They provided no ice bucket in each room, although ice is available near the office (a several minute walk from the two buildings with rooms)
An actual motelâdrive up to your room and there you are. The room is a time capsuleâa 1960s style updated with good lighting, fridge and good bed linen. No magic fingers, but otherwise exactly what you would expect for a motor hotel.
I stayed at Viking Shores for an overnight while visiting family on the Cape. The facility is a typical motor inn with limited service and amenities however, it was clean and comfortable at a decent price.
Room has fridge, microwave and hair dryer but no cups or coffee maker. Also located directly on the bike trail for cycling enthusiasts.
The front desk was very accommodating for an early check-in and late-check out to match my schedule.
The room was recently renovated but the property was old and dated. I was staying on the side that opened to woods and was also eaten alive by knots and mosquitoes that got into my room from the cleaning crew. Not a pleasant experience
My family and I came down to the Cape a day earlier than planned and were planning on camping but last minute decided to book a hotel. Check in was easy, the room was very nice and clean, and my kids really enjoyed the playground. It was also extremely affordable and we were very happy with our stay. We will definitely be back!
