I want to be fair and accurate on this review for future travelers. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours to take your calls and take care of problems. The staff is very friendly and speak pretty good English. There is no shuttle bus service from the International Airport. You can get a car at the airport easily and it will cost about $18 USD to get there (about 40 km on pretty good toll road 300 in Sri Lanka currency). Get at least $200 USD converted at the airport for incidentals. The hotel uses 220 VAC and has large square and round 3 pin plugs so you need multi-plug adapters which the front desk does not provide. I didn't eat there, but they have a little breakfast cafe and a big bar. There was no blow drier or properly heated hot water in the shower. The bed was comfortable and the AC unit worked well. There is an elevator to get you to the upper floors. The Hotel is really a 2 star in the U.S. rating system. I would stay there again if they address the cold hot-water issue.
Staff are not friendly at all. Poor Room confition.. A/C leak.. No action taken on the complains about the poor condition.. Not worth for money.. Specially poor treatment for the people who come through online booking.
Old dirty room (201), sagged bed, broken door and window handles, room WiFi never worked, hotel staff are like zombies (except reception). Hotel restaurant 'Karapincha' has terrible service, waiters are not trained and do not pay attention to customers. Overall, this is a poor service hotel
It was nice staying at the hotel. Little bit off from the center, but the tuk tuk station in front of hotel makes your movement around easier. Providing menu of their restaurant would have prevented me of having expensive dinner at the hotel.
