The hotel El Maltese provided a good experience, overall.
The staff is great, and will try their best to accommodate your needs.
Regarding our room, it is relatively simple, could've used a fresh coat of paint, but overall, was clean. There's plenty of room to store your stuff, a minifridge, hot water, hair dryer, etc. Wifi was on and off (mostly off), which was disappointing. The room we had had very poor isolation from the neighbor upstairs; we could hear his every move.
Location is great, right in front of the Nicaragua Lake. You'll have to walk 10 minutes to get to the main strip. The area is mostly frequented by locals, so that is something to keep in mind if you're coming back late (11pm +) from downtown Granada. However, there is a police ''outpost'' nearby.
If you are an early bird, you can catch a beautiful sunrise on the lake by simply crossing the street to the waterfront.
Included breakfast is simple but we loved it, it definitely gets your day going, and it's typical Nica food.
