Disappointing, but could be a very nice hotel
This is a nice hotel in a good location convenient to highway 36, close to CU, and only a 20-minute walk from the Pearl St. mall. t should have been nice!
The room needed work. We arrived to find the bathroom sink clogged with something protruding from the drain. Later, a black clog came out and dark grey water bubbled up.
The phone was broken, and was strobing brightly with a white light that made sleep difficult. We had to unplug it and put it another room to sleep.
I've frequently been to hotels with showers with too *little* pressure, but this was a first -- too much. It hurt, and the cheap shower head had ONE setting. Hilton also cut costs by putting in shower controls with one handle that turns up temp and pressure at the same time. If you want a hot shower, the pressure is so high it hurts. Also, the shower needs a clear rubber gasket -- like the big one a few inches higher -- that keeps water from flooding out of the shower from the lower 8 inches where the door meets the rest of the glass. Every shower we took made. huge mess.
The ice machine (labeled as "hydration") did not work, and we had to go to another floor.
TV channel selection was terrible -- like a Motel 6. The bar closed at 10 and the bartender was surly ("does it look like we get an evening crowd?"
Overall, this should be a nice full-service hotel, but the room was in poor condition and the amenities (like the bar) were all lame.
We were so disappointed. Look elsewhere.
