The room was fine, the bathroom was all done up, the door to the heritage balcony let through some air but thankfully the air conditioning did a great job at heating the room. The pub downstairs was quiet. Had to go through pictures of naked women in the pub which was uncomfortable.
The bed was extra soft.
I have only stayed here twice the past couple months and I really love staying here.
However, the tv last time did not work properly (issues with guide and functionality, i think room 1) and this time (room 2) the tv only offered channel 9, which reception was so poor it was unwatchable and ABC.
I wouldnt expect these to have cable or paid services but it made my stay really less enjoyable as i couldn't relax and watch the footy or any moveis etc. i would love to stay here again, but would probably ask if this issue had been fixed before booking.
really appreciate and enjoy all other aspects :)
The hotel rooms and the shared bathroom were lovely - very clean, well appointed and modern. However, unfortunately my stay was spoiled by the bathrooms not having any hot water in the evening (unpleasant cold shower!) and by the next morning, NO water at all!! I tried to call hotel staff but there was no answer due to it being before 9am. If the lack of water (especially hot water) is fixed and someone is accessible if required urgently or after hours, then the Mile End Hotel is a great place to stay & I would recommend it. Also there is no elevator to rooms up stairs so you need to carry your luggage up 2 staircases. This should be made clearer on the room descriptions.
The place was under construction noisy no where to park no notice grinding concrete at 7am in morning had to leave to loud the manager really didnt care if i knew it was under construction wouldnt have booked there. Not happy at all
The old world style and art nouveau features and furniture and helpful and friendly staff
Didnât like that you couldnât open a window in the room we had. French doors to balcony were locked and no window
