Found in Broward County, Florida, FLL is one of 3 airports serving the bustling city of Miami, about 40 km away. Less than a 10 km drive from the airport are the beaches, golf courses, hotels and city centre of Fort Lauderdale.

FLL has all the features and services you’d expect at an international airport – dozens of places to eat and shop, free Wi-Fi service, mobile phone charging centres, car rental shops, luggage storage, and currency exchanges.
There’s a shuttle between terminals and a tram service linking all the terminals to the Palm and Hibiscus parking garages. It’s also possible to walk between Terminals 3 and 4 with the connected walkway. Frequent fliers should note that FLL has two airport lounges – Delta Sky Club in Terminal 2 and United Club in Terminal 1. While Delta Sky Club is open to members only, the United Club can also be accessed by passengers booked on United air flights who pay an entry fee.

What to do at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport?
Most travellers are keen to get out of an airport as quickly as possible, but there’s plenty to see and do at FLL if you’re on a layover or have some time to spare. You’ll find a good range of shops around the airport, including duty-free shops for international visitors, bookshops, Kids Works stores and a variety of souvenirs and clothing for sale.
Avid plane-spotters could head to the roof of Hibiscus Garage, the airport’s multi-storey parking garage that has been designated an official aircraft observation area.
You could also keep an eye out as you move through the airport to see the dozens of public art and design installations, including a quirky neon sculpture called Please Lose My Suitcase Full of Blues in the baggage claim area of Terminal 3. There are interactive Cloudscape sculptures in Terminal 1 that double as a fun play area for kids.

When it comes to getting to and from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport, you’ll have a variety of options to suit your budget and time. The commuter train Tri-Rail connects the airport to Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. You could also catch a Broward County Transit Bus. The bus stop is at the Rental Car Center, Stop 7.
Taxis, rideshare services like Uber, and luxury sedan cars are also available – you’ll find kiosks for these services just outside the baggage claim areas at each of the terminals. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport does not have any onsite hotels, but you could find several within a 15-minute drive that offer shuttle services.
The airport has 6 lactation suites for nursing mothers, which you can open by downloading the Mamava app. There are no dedicated kids' play areas at FLL, aside from the Cloudscape sculptures.
