recent stay at Uptown Suites Extended Stay – Tampa/Riverview from January 30 to February 2. While the room itself was clean and comfortable, several service-related concerns made our experience less than satisfactory.
One of our primary concerns was the lack of customer service and attentiveness to guest needs. For instance, we were required to bring used towels to the front desk in order to receive new ones and throw out our own trash. As guests in our 60s, we often use extra towels for safety on the bathroom floor to prevent slipping. Having to carry used towels across the hotel was inconvenient and did not align with the level of service we expected.
Additionally, our room did not receive housekeeping service at all during our three-night stay. The hotel’s website states that they do. While we understand that daily housekeeping is no longer standard, we did expect at least one cleaning service during our visit. When we inquired about this at the front desk, we were simply told, "This is an Extended Hotel," which we found dismissive rather than helpful.
Another issue was the excessive noise at night, making it difficult to rest. We were in Tampa due to a family emergency—my brother’s last-minute cancer surgery at Tampa General Hospital—and our exhaustion was the only reason we managed to sleep despite the disturbances.
Lastly, our room lacked kitchenware, Not a big deal but might as well throw it in here.
