Make rules known or never again
I have always loved and stayed at Best Western although not so much recently due to prices. My husband booked my stay through Hotels.com because he was at a retreat house for the weekend and would join me in 2 days. When I got to the hotel they would not let me check in because the reservation was in his name. The retreat house was an hour south and they would need him and his identification. I was told to call the 3rd party and have the reservation changed to my name. After seven attempts due to the call being dropped and hotels.com not wanting you to speak to a person,I was told that it was not possible. Mind you this conversation took almost an hour. I asked hotels.com was I going to lose the entire reservation of 5 days or just one night. He was not sure of the hotels policy. He said he would call the Best Western and find out. When the partner of Diane answered the Hotels.com personnel he took the initiative to allow the name to be changed. Now I ask what is wrong with the world these days when being married 38 years and having the proper ID that I have to go through this. So much for a pleasant weekend.
