The Swissôtel Zürich is a really nice place to stay. The hotel is not in downtown Zürich but in a suburb of Zürich. By train you reach Zürich within ten minutes (one stop). Tram 10, 14 takes you to downtown Zürich in 20 minutes and you passes some nice residential areas of Zürich. The airport is also nearby. Train less than 10 minutes (one stop), tram 20 minutes. Both the trainstation as the tram stop are infront of the hotel. The area of the hotel is alive with many shops, restaurants and café and Saterday a interesting biological market.
The hotel is big but the staff make you feel so welcome and special. Friendly people, extra service (they gave us umbrella's when it was raining) etc. I really liked the people at the bar, frontdesk and rooftop pool.
The rooftop pool, sauna etc is really great. Nice pool with a beautiful view over Zürich.
The rooms are comfortable with a nice bed with very good matresses and pillows, big tv. Nicely decorated and enough guest supplies (like a bathrobe).
Less positive. I think the decoration of the bar is a bit too alternative and cheap and not fitting the luxury atmosphere of the hotel. The decorations of the lobby is alright but I prefer a more traditional style lobby.
The breakfast is good but relatively too expensive. Chf 32,50 and no free wifi if you are not a Swiss-circle member.
