Santa Ponsa is gorgeous: the buildings, the rooms, the grounds are all stunning. The setting is perfect. I cannot stress this enough. It's a perfect place to unwind. There were some glitches throughout our weekend stay, however. These are small, but for the price paid, they should be ironed out: shower temperature fluctuated a lot between very cold and scalding. It wasn't enough to complain about, but it was an irritation. The spa pool was lovely, but the hammam never quite heated up and the sauna smelled acrid when water was added to the rocks forcing us to leave. The restaurant was good but not quite good enough for the price, and lunch options were limited (a pastrami sandwich was 18 euros!). There was a LOT of confusion in booking spa treatments, but the spa staff did a fantastic job. All staff were incredibly lovely, always helpful and a an absolute pleasure to interact with. And the absolute best part was the grounds. They are idyllic with perfect country walks extending below the fruit terraces. My evaluation is that the conditions are in place to have an absolutely five star experience, but elements do need to be ironed out to achieve that fully.
