The stay was good, weâve been a few times now and we always have a great time. From the pool to the staff and the bartenders and the vibe itâs always a great time. My only point of dissatisfaction was the parking, the lot is already tiny and I really think some spots should be saved for guests. We had to park a block down at the dry cleaners and they have a huge sign that says customer parking only. The lady at the front desk advised we park at the schoool next door but they had an event going on and so the dry cleaners was our best bet. I feel they need to prioritize guests over people stopping by just for a swim. Might not stay here again just to avoid any inconvenience.
Our second time here and my wife and I absolutely love this place. The staff are fantastic, the pool and rooms are perfect. We definitely will be staying here again!
This is my third stay at the dive motel- every time has been a pleasure. The rooms are funky (retro! And very clean) and itâs really nice to have a little bar on site to grab a drink. Overall the vibes are excellent. The lobby is very helpful and responsive to texts and we had every thing we needed. Shout out to the excellent customer service- We had to make a last minute change and they were incredibly kind and accommodating.
Last thing I wanna mention is that this place is different in the summer months- pool is open to the public during the day. Something I wasnât aware of during booking, so keep it in mind- summer months are gonna be more of a pool party and fall/winter is definitely more private and lowkey.
In any case, this place is a gem. Weâll definitely be back.
This is a solid little place. 10/10 vibes. The in-room stations are great⊠never thought Iâd hear a track from a James Marcel Stinson side project in a hotel. Docking a point from the room because the mini split only goes down to 68 and I like to keep the temp at âIce Planet Hothâ levels while I sleep.
The staff is really friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has some issues. When I first checked in, I noticed the room had a bad odor to it. I went to the front desk and asked if they had any other open rooms and was told "Is it a musty smell? yeah they all have that"... yuck. True, the second room also smelled. The room(s) I was given were also not the room I intended to book (the pink mural room) and the furniture is all really old/thrift store looking and there is a lot of dirt and debris in the corners. The bathroom is just paint on top of old tiles so it's chipping in a lot of places. There were some spiders. BUT, the biggest issue was the fact that loud music starts at 8 AM and plays at the pool all day long. It's impossible to sleep in or relax in the afternoon. I get it that it's fun at the pool... but what about the guests? Other plus was that parking was free, but I won't be returning.
Like many things, a stay at The Dive Motel has its pros and cons.
The Pros: killer aesthetic, fun vibe, comfy beds, not far from downtown, and tickets upon check in for free canned drinks at their bar, just for staying at the motel.
The Cons: the structure was built in 1956(?) so the pipes are old and there is little to no sound proofing/insulation. We travel with a white noise sound machine and still heard conversations of people walking by our room early in the morning. Also, on-site parking is very limited and if you arrive on the weekend there may not be on-site parking (meaning that you have to park at the neighboring school). While The Dive has security cameras in their small parking lot, the school may or may not be aware that motel guests park on their property on the weekends. Even in The Diveâs small parking lot they have multiple signs stating they are not responsible for break-ins or stolen items. When I asked the girl at check in she told me âbreak-ins donât happen *that* oftenâ. More than once constitutes a problem in my eyes but our vehicle was unscathed after a night at The Dive.
The motel is not in the safest part of town, but it wasnât a bad Uber ride to and from The Dive and Downtown Nashville.
The light switch to control the in-room music also controlled the disco ball, so if you wanted to enjoy their radio, you had to have the disco ball spinning. Not a big con but a minor inconvenience.
From the minute we got in the staff was friendly and inviting, we got to our room and it didn't disappoint, disco ball and all. We hit the hot tub after a long day (pool isn't heated so hadn't got to temp yet). afterwards headed to the fantastic bar to enjoy some nightcaps before turning in. This is going to be our go to place to stay in Nashville.
