Our family of five recently stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Chevy Chase Pavilion and had a great experience. The location was perfect for us—just outside the city, which meant lighter traffic, but still incredibly convenient thanks to the metro station located right in the basement of the hotel. It only took about 20 minutes to get into the heart of D.C., compared to the 45–50 minutes it would have taken by car.
The room was spacious and comfortable for all of us, with two double beds, a pull-out sofa, a desk, and a kitchenette. It really helped make our stay feel a bit more like home. There were a few maintenance issues—the bar sink was loose and dripping, the tub spout wobbled, and the bathroom sink didn’t function properly—but they didn’t take away too much from the overall experience.
The complimentary breakfast was a step above the usual continental options, and the nightly happy hour was a great touch—free cocktails for the adults and Shirley Temples for the kids from 5:30 to 7:30. The staff throughout our stay were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made a big difference.
We also enjoyed the indoor pool, hot tub, and even found a fun little arcade downstairs. Having a Cheesecake Factory in the connected mall was an added bonus (although tough on the wallet and the waistline!).
All in all, a very family-friendly hotel in a super convenient location. We’d definitely stay again!
