The Mercure Hotel Hamburg City, has been renovated some time back and it has been done in the style that is referring to the port of Hamburg. All very nice looking. The only downside is that the container-door which are mounted on the closet as well as the refrigerator, make a lot of noise. The room itself is OK, although they could be a bit larger. There is a coffee machine in the room, but they charge 1 Euro per Capsule, which is pricey. Our bed was of poor quality and I had constantly the idea that it leaned, which it did. Shower and all is relatively new. The breakfast is great, lots of choices of fresh bread, eggs, bacon, pancakemachine, etc. The location is not great, not bad. Just a bit too far to walk, there is a bus that stops every 10 minutes in the street, 5 minutes walk, that brings you directly into the center. The street where the hotel is located is quite busy, so if you are used to sleep with the window open, it can be noisy.
