Nightmare of a late-(almost) check-in.
This was a truly horrific and frustrating experience. My flight got into Orlando late so I called the property to tell them I was on my way. The person at the desk confirmed they had my reservation and everything was all set.
When I arrived at 2:00am suddenly they couldn't find my reservation. Because I hadn't bothered to check it in before the night audit was run the system automatically canceled it. The woman on the desk had no idea how to reactivate the reservation, mind you I had already paid for the reservation in full through hotels.com and the money had already left my account.
I stood there, exhausted, desperate to get to bed. Only to be told that there was nothing but the person at the front desk could do. After 45 minutes the person at the desk finally gave up and gave me a key to a room. On the 4th floor.
I go to use the elevator, and the elevator is not working so I trudge up the four flights upstairs only to get there and find out my room key doesn't work.
I'm done. Just a ridiculous experience all the way around
