When we arrived at the hotel I was told by the desk clerk Derrick informed me that “your reservation has been cancelled you need to contact the 3 rd party that you booked with” we had no idea why it was cancelled as I had confirmation number etc. and had been contacted by Hotels.com that very day about our upcoming stay. Now I do understand that this was an issue with Hotel.com but what surprised me was the lack of help from Derrick. He did not say that there were rooms available for us to now book. So we went out to our car spoke with Hotels.com and got a refund for the cancellation that they made. Then we looked and found tat there were rooms available and booked it. We went back into the hotel, went up to the desk and Derrick just took my credit card and gave us our room cards with no conversation not even asking our name. He also did not ask for my drivers license. And on a different note when we got to our room there were no bedside lamps on either nightstand. I went back to look at the room pictures for the room I booked and other pictures of rooms and they all had bedside table lamps. So what is that about? I have booked with Hotels.com for years and this was my worst experience. The fact that my reservation was cancelled after I had changed our reservation and gotten a confirmation number and continual emails about my upcoming reservation mystifies me.
