We had booked a duplex room and regretted it! Room was disjointed with kettle and fridge in bedroom (upstairs) Coffee wachine downstairs. Towels on bed even though bathroom was downstairs. Lacking in sockets near the mirror for hairdryer etc No socket near kettle.. had to take it downstairs to plug it in! Also to fill it with water. There was a water jug but the nearest place to fill it with drinking water was floor 6 and we were on floor 8! Was quite dusty and the cover on the sofa wasn't the cleanest. Had stayed at apex grassmarket before and had wee extras like pillow spray and earplugs.. not at Glasgow! Found the room cold and industrialised. Plus points.. free mini bar Comfy bed Won't stay again

excellent staff, but walls are paper thin
We stayed in a 2-floor duplex PROS: - Views were spectacular, very cool space - The staff was extremely friendly and attentive - You can't beat this location, it's next to all transportation hubs and in the middle of shopping and restaurants - Complimentary snacks and drinks in the mini fridge CONS: - Soundproofing between rooms was very poor. We could hear the people in the next room having low-level conversations, and romantic things. Our first night, we were watching TV around 8pm and the room next door banged on the wall. We realized the walls were very thin because it went both ways. Airline staff stays here, so we found ourselves whispering the entire stay in case they were in the next room. Not the hotel's fault, but we couldn't be ourselves on vacation. - 8/10 clean, typical wear and tear from being used - Area above the upstairs mirror needed lighting OVERALL: Worth the price, but wish the soundproofing was better

Helpful staff, but some things missing
Comfortable, clean rooms for a one night stay. Good size room and decent facilities. The hotel was advertised as having free valet parking, but this was a mistake on the Hotels.com website at it was not included (discounted rate at another car park nearby instead). The travel cot for the baby did not come with a mattress, so was unusable. Free welcome drink promised was not included, but staff were otherwise very helpful.

So noisy, impossible to sleep, lack of management
On the first night the noise from the bar in the alley underneath us went on until gone 3am. We were given ear plugs and told we could move rooms in the morning. We were moved to a room on the other side of the hotel the next day, all seemed well until the night when we realised the windows were not able to be closed as the handle had broken off. When we initially tried to close the windows the safety bar was not secured and my mum fell into the slanted window. There is a screen door which closes but the noise is not stopped at all as the door does not close flush and sealed. The street noise was very loud and as there was a storm too the wind was howling through the gaps. We were given more earplugs and told that maintenance had left for the day so the windows couldn't be closed. The front desk staff told us the only option is to switch rooms, and he would come right back to let us know where we can move to.  15 minutes later he called to say there were no rooms to move to, but they may have one in 45 mins if they have a no show. They called again shortly after to say they had another room, which we were taken to, it turned out to be two rooms below the previous room, even closer to the bar, and the noise was even louder than the night before there. So we returned to our open window room and waited for another call, scheduled for midnight, to let us know if we could move. We decided to stay in the open room window room and try and sleep. I've since had not even an apology
