We travel to Bellingham several times a year, and this was our first time staying at the Guesthouse. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. While the price was reasonable, the overall experience left much to be desired.
I had specifically requested a king-size bed in a quiet location, but we were given a king-sized bed in a small room right next to the front entrance. The noise from the breakfast area and laundry room made it nearly impossible to get a good night’s rest. This was far from the peaceful stay I had hoped for.
There were a few other issues during our stay that were disappointing. For starters, we were only provided with one room key, despite there being two adults. Additionally, we were not informed that housekeeping only cleans rooms every other day. This lack of communication was frustrating, as we had expected daily cleaning.
The breakfast, which was one of the perks of the hotel, was only available until 9:00 AM, and the room was locked promptly after. If you missed it, you were out of luck. This early cutoff was inconvenient, especially for those who enjoy a more leisurely morning.
The Wi-Fi was another problem—it was very unreliable and kept dropping connection, which could have been an issue if I needed to work during our stay. Thankfully, I didn’t.
