Beautiful building, right in the middle of the lovely city of Weimar. Inside lots of mirrors, bling-bling and marble and gold. Splashing out, not with very much taste though.
Breakfast was superb both times, staff is very, very service-minded. Rooms vary; one room of our group was in old-fashioned German woodcraft-tradition, the other was a standard luxury double room as you can find all over the world. No history whatsoever, once you're inside. Not a major problem, but simply not what you expect.
Weimar is a beautiful historic city, but we came to visit concentrationcamp Buchenwald nearby (10km's). A must-see for everyone who has a sense of what is truly important in life.
