The front desk staff was excellent and honestly the only reason I didn’t rate this a 1-star review. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay because the rooms were infested with spiders. Sadly, I’m not exaggerating. We booked two deluxe rooms with balconies, and it seems the balconies might have contributed to the problem.
Upon entering and trying to settle in, we immediately spotted three spiders and a stink bug crawling on the walls and ceiling in one room. When I checked my daughter’s room, I found cob webs, six spiders on the walls, ceiling, and even crawling out from behind the headboard.
The hotel has no elevators, and getting to the third floor was confusing. You have to use what looks like an emergency staircase at the end of the hall. To make matters worse, there’s no staff to help carry bags. The rooms themselves were in poor condition, with cracks in the flooring, walls, and baseboards, covered by multiple coats of poorly applied paint in an attempt to make the rooms look presentable. Unfortunately, it didn’t work—the rooms felt more like a budget motel than a property worth $175 per night.
Ultimately, we decided to drive home rather than stay in rooms we would be sharing with spiders and bugs. It was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. They claim to be adding a pool and spa to enhance the experience. I doubt that will help. They might want to start by tearing it down and building it over again.
