Under Construction - Safety Protocols? You decide
We left a day early due conditions at the hotel, which is under renovation. While we were willing to tolerate the negative appearance, The property had at least 9 smoke detectors covered in plastic, located on the main floor in the lobby, dining area, hallways, & workout room. Front desk said smoke detectors. One of the two stairwells is closed with blue tape & plastic.
I contacted the county Fire Chief. He confirmed that “no, they should not be covered.”
Front Desk Manager replied:
"Dear (incorrect name)
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Your experience is below our standard. we would like to add that in order to prevent any inconvenience to our guests and avoid false fire alarms caused by construction dust, we are following protocols set by the local fire department. As part of these safety measures, hotel staff is conducting regular inspections of the lobby every 15 minutes to ensure everything remains in order. Our county fire marshal has approved our procedure and we will continue to work with them as we continue the finalization of the property renovations.
Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with the leadership team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed."
