Dirty low budget hostel and not a lodge or a hotel
We had the worst experience ever with this hotel. We were not sent a code to enter as was mentioned.
Checking at 3pm they say on their listing, we were there at 3.30pm and none of the rooms were ready. There was NOBODY onsite to speak to. We spent ages on the phone with the manager where we begged him to send us a code to enter the room so we can get dressed and get ready for a concert. We got the room at 5.15pm. The manager called my friend at 6.30pm when we were already at the concert to let her know that her room was ready!!!!
There are shared 2 smelly bathrooms at our floor. We tried a bathroom upstairs and it was like a horror show.
The pillows and mattresses are stained but covered with clean sheets.
One of the wooden rails in a top bunk bed was broken and nearly cut my friendâs forehead.
Random hazardous stuff around the building like a very long ladder standing against a wall in the âlanguage roomâ where we were told we can get ready.
We just wanted to get out of there asap.
Super Kontakt!
We had a fantastic stay! We have 7 people in our party for this trip, and the room we had worked perfectly. The facilities were good and clean, and the beds were comfy. There was plenty of security measures getting into the building and our individual rooms. James and Aidan were very responsive communicating with us if we had any questions. They are clearly renovating/updating the building in several areas (in a good way), as you can see the work in progress in a couple areas. I would definitely come back here for my next trip to Ireland. Thanks so much!
We found the hostel to be clean and comfortable overall. Convenient for getting to the tourist sites. Great value. We had a private room with a queen bed and it was very comfortable although linens were a bit worn. Shared kitchen and bathroom areas were clean. Hot shower was excellent. Bus stop just outside front door. Many shops and restaurants nearby although it's not in the best of neighborhoods. Workmen were there during the day painting walls and working on doorways. They were considerate and kept noise and dust to a minimum.
The room we booked was not the room we ended in. The entrance door was battered and run down and didnât look like an entrance at all. There was no heating in the room and the beds werenât safe to sleep on as they rattled and had screws sticking out of them. There were stains on the mattresses.
It was a shared toilet and shower with strangers which we were not made aware of. When booking it said there would be 2 bathrooms for our 12 bed room, we ended up with a 10 bed and 1 shared toilet and 1 shared shower with no hot water.
Honestly one of the worst places Iâve ever stayed and will not be returning.
A really central location 5 minutes from O'Connell Street and close to Temple Bar at a very reasonable price. I was on my own and stayed in a room with 4 bunk beds and a single bed.
