There was a constructive project that started at 6am. Its a 4 year project and they didnt tell us. The AC was noisy. No kid friendly TV network. Roo.s outside instead of inside. So its a motel and its not listed as such.
And the vending machine, the only one, didnt work.
This is listed as a hotel built in 2015; it is not- Suburban Suites are just a few rooms in the Quality Inn with a higher price and different decor. This is deceptive; they should pay you to stay in this room.
My non-smoking room had a heavy smell of pot and cigarettes, a clogged toilet that did not work (they sent a maintenance guy twice, who tinkered with the chain and fish valve to no effect), and large patches of black and pink mold. Service at the hotel was nonexistent, and most of the basic claimed amenities (eg the ice machine) were broken.
Fair at best. Our room wasnât ready on time at the time they specified it to be ready, we walked into what we thought was a freshly clean room. Only to be hit with an overwhelming smell of cleaning products that left the floor slippery, and left a yellow residue on every pair of socks we wore. The A/C unit didnât get very cold and it rattled loudly we had to hit the unit every so often to make it stop. However the front desk staff were very welcoming, and we liked the close proximity location to access the Metro. We booked this hotel with the mind set that we were only there to sleep, spending majority of the day/night in the city. However for a more relaxed visit where weâre not in a rush for the cities events, we will not be coming back and will be spending more money on a nicer hotel with better location in the city.
Room looked generally clean with no initial unpleasant odors. It seemed to have been recently renovated, just not very well. The window was extremely dirty.
Sliding bathroom door hits counter outside and doesn't close all the way. All floors looked clean, but a quick wipe with a washcloth quickly revealed that was not the case. Housekeeping apparently used dirty mop water.
The bracket for shower head (hand-held only) was broken and would not hold the shower head up. I had to wedge it in place to try to shower normally. The bathroom exhaust fan was missing the grate and circulated zero air. No toilet paper holder to be found.
There was exposed wiring beneath the A/C unit and a huge gap around as well.
The bed frame was extremely squeaky.
There was lots of trash (cigarette butts, food wrappers, broken toilets, etc) all around the premises, breezways, and stairways. A pile of linens (hopefully dirty, but not sure) was stored in bags in the bottom stairwell.
Only working elevator was out of service.
