Our stay here was very good, and we would recommend it. We stayed in a premium twin room, and it was lovely. The maids cleaned it thoroughly each day. The wifi was fast, and was generally strong enough to stream movies. The hotel seems to have a good generator, because we rarely experienced any power cuts. And the sound-proofing windows worked extremely well; we were never bothered by the honking outside. Breakfast was delicious, with different types of Lebanese dishes each day. The location is fantastic. It's right next to Hamra Street, so there are dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, ATMS, and other stores in the immediate area. It's also only a short walk from the American University (about 15 minutes). The neighborhood feels safe. The staff are all very friendly.
The downsides: There are only a few English-language channels on the tv, and you have to search for them because there are nearly 1000 channels. The balcony was quite small, only big enough to stand. And the view, of the unfinished building across the street, wasn't very nice. The prices for the minibar are a little too expensive to make it appealing, and they don't serve any alcohol. We tried to order room service twice. The first time they were already closed at 7:50pm. The second time, they delivered it a little too late and it was already a bit stale. They do encourage you to use their own taxi service, which overcharges by about 5,000 lira. And the elevator is very slow. But overall, a very good hotel.
