My first seven days reservation was made through Expedia. Though I found the apartment clean, there were considerable leaks coming from both the washer and the dishwasher. In addition, the fridge would not get cold unless it was set at 4.5 causing the freezer drawers to condense. Anything left there became too frozen. I reported the issue to the property, via email right away. I also enlisted the help of Expedia but no action was taken by the property. The second stretch of seven days was done directly with the property, with a promise of a discount which never materialized. I also asked to be moved to another unit but I was declined. I was able to make the reservations via Expedia for the third stretch. There was only one type of apartment listed and I paid for that. Ironically, I was admonished by the property's reservation that I would be allowed in the "Deluxe" unit with the leak and fridge problems for the price of a non Deluxe one this time only. Even if all were in order, there was nothing Deluxe about that flat. It did not even have a vacuum cleaner! This morning, while getting ready to check-out, I was told the neighbor downstairs had complained about a leak and maintenance was coming to my apartment right away. On multiple occasions, I heard noises that strongly resembled drug-related activity within the building. As someone with law enforcement training, I recognize these signs. This situation made me extremely uncomfortable and concerned for my safety.
